Update – June 30, 2026 (Sene 23, 2018 EC)
The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that between June 26th and 28th, 2026 Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) forces carried out a series of detentions and harassment targeting religious figures in Alamata City (North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). During the reporting period, TPLF forces carried out arbitrary detentions targeting clergy members affiliated with the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC). The first incident occurred on June 26th when TPLF forces detained Qes Deribew Getahun. The second incident occurred on June 28th when the militants detained Deacon Abebe Desalew. Both detainees served at the Debre-Misal Kidanemihret Church in Alamata City. The arrests are described as part of a continued pattern of identity-based detentions, torture, and harassment targeting community members.

የአማራ ማህበር በአሜሪካ ከሰኔ 19 እስከ 21፣ 2018 ዓ.ም የትግራይ ሕዝብ ነጻ አውጪ ግንባር (ትሕነግ) ኃይሎች በአላማጣ ከተማ (ሰሜን ወሎ ዞን፣ አማራ ክልል፣ ኢትዮጵያ) የሃይማኖት ሰዎችን ኢላማ በማድረግ ተከታታይ እስራቶችን እና ትንኮሳዎችን እንዳደረጉ ተረድቷል። በሪፖርቱ ወቅት የትሕነግ ኃይሎች ከኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋህዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ጋር ግንኙነት ያላቸውን የሃይማኖት አባላት ኢላማ በማድረግ የዘፈቀደ እስራቶችን ፈጽመዋል። የመጀመሪያው ክስተት የተከሰተው ሰኔ 19 ላይ የትሕነግ ኃይሎች ቄስ ደርበው ጌታሁንን ሲያስሩ ሲሆን ሁለተኛው ክስተት የተከሰተው ደግሞ ሰኔ 21 ላይ ታጣቂዎቹ ዲያቆን አበበ ደሳለውን ሲያስሩ ነው። ሁለቱም ታሳሪዎች በአላማጣ ከተማ በሚገኘው ደብረ ምስዓል ኪዳነ ምህረት ቤተክርስቲያን አገልጋይ ናቸው። እስራቶቹ የማህበረሰቡን አባላት ኢላማ በማድረግ በማንነት ላይ የተመሰረተ እስር፣ ስቃይ እና ትንኮሳ አካል እንደሆኑ ተገልጿል።
