Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers carried out a series of deadly attacks across numerous woredas in southwestern Amhara Region of Ethiopia

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that between July 15th and 17th, 2026 Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) carried out a series of deadly attacks across numerous woredas in southwestern Amhara Region of Ethiopia.

Over the reporting period, AAA recorded multiple deadly incidents resulting in dozens of civilian casualties across Enemay, Machakel and Bibugn Woredas of East Gojjam Zone, and Dega-Damot, Quarit and Dembecha-Zuriya Woredas of West Gojjam Zone. A partial overview of the incidents is provided below.

On July 15th, regime forces executed a civilian identified as Woizero Banchu Aschale in Yetmen town of Enemay Woreda. The victim was a mother of three who was shot in front of her children.

On July 16th, regime forces killed two civilians (farmers) as they entered Dega-Segnin Kebele of Machakel Woreda.

On the same day, regime forces carried out a series of deadly attacks in the Hamus-Gebeya area of Dega-Damot Woreda. The attacks involved artillery shelling of private residences and extrajudicial executions of women in households where their husbands were missing. In one instance, a rocket landed on a private residence leaving five persons killed, and the structure destroyed along with its contents, and the loss of livestock in the compound at the time. The killed victims were identified as Woizero Ejig Shifferaw along with her two children (aged one year and six months, and four years old), alongside Enatnesh Ayenew and her daughter (aged one year and six months) who were living in the same dwelling during the time of the strike. In another instance, regime forces carried out extrajudicial executions of two civilians (both mothers) while demanding to know the whereabouts of their spouses.

Between July 16th and 17th, regime forces killed two civilians and left three others wounded in Quarit Woreda. The killed victims (both farmers) were identified as Tesfahun Almaw and Fentahun Alemu, while the wounded victims included two minors (both 7-years-old). In addition, regime forces detained numerous other farmers they encountered in the area.

During the same period, regime forces summarily executed two students (12th grade students) near the Anjene locality of Dembecha-Zuriya Woreda. The students were intercepted while returning from Debre-Markos University toward Feres-Bet (Dega-Damot Woreda) after completing national examinations. During the interaction, regime forces reportedly forced the students to march in front of the military detachment as human shields. However, when the students raised concerns over this practice they were shot dead. 

During this same period, regime forces’ artillery shelling struck students in the Gena-Memcha area of Bibugn Woreda leaving numerous students killed and injured.

የአማራ ማህበር በአሜሪካ ከሐምሌ 8 እስከ 10 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. ባለው ጊዜ ውስጥ፣ በአማራ ክልል ደቡብ ምዕራብ ክፍል በሚገኙ በርካታ ወረዳዎች ውስጥ የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲ አገዛዝ ወታደሮች (የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች) በሰው ሕይወት እና አካል ላይ ጉዳት ያስከተሉ ተከታታይ ጥቃቶችን መፈጸማቸውን አረጋግጧል።

በነዚህ ቀናት ውስጥ ማህበሩ በምስራቅ ጎጃም ዞን እነማይ፣ ማቻከል እና ቢቡኝ ወረዳዎች፣ እንዲሁም በምዕራብ ጎጃም ዞን ደጋ ዳሞት፣ ቋሪት እና ደንበጫ ዙሪያ ወረዳዎች በደርዘን የሚቆጠሩ ሰላማዊ ሰዎችን ለሕልፈትና ለጉዳት የዳረጉ በርካታ ጥቃቶችን መዝግቧል። የጥቃቶቹ ከፊል ዝርዝር መግለጫ እንደሚከተለው ቀርቧል።

በመጀመሪያው ክስተት፣ ሐምሌ 8 ቀን የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በእነማይ ወረዳ የትመን ከተማ በፈጸሙት ጥቃት ወይዘሮ ባንቹ አስቻለ የተባሉ ሰላማዊ ሰውን በግፍ ገድለዋል። ሟች የሦስት ልጆች እናት የነበሩ ሲሆን የአገዛዙ ወታደሮች በልጆቻቸው ፊት ተኩሰው እንደገደሏቸው ለማወቅ ተችሏል።

በሐምሌ 9 ቀን የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች ወደ ማቻከል ወረዳ ደጋ ሰኝኝ ቀበሌ በመግባት ሁለት ንጹሃን አርሶአደሮችን ገድለዋል።

በዚሁ እለት የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በደጋ ዳሞት ወረዳ ሐሙስ ገበያ በተባለ አካባቢ ተከታታይ የሆኑ በሰው ሕይወት እና አካል ላይ ጉዳት ያስከተሉ ጥቃቶችን ፈጽመዋል። ጥቃቶቹ በመኖሪያ ቤቶች ላይ ያነጣጠሩ ከባድ መሣሪያዎች (መድፍ) ድብደባዎችን እና "ባሎቻችሁን አምጡ" በሚል ሰበብ የቤተሰብ አባላት የሆኑ ሴቶችን ያለ ፍርድ መግደልን ያካተቱ ነበሩ።

በእለቱ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች የፈጸሙት የሮኬት ድብደባ በአንድ የግል መኖሪያ ቤት ላይ በማረፉ የአምስት ሰዎችን ሕይወት የቀጠፈ ሲሆን፣ በመኖሪያ ቤቱና በውስጡ በነበረው ንብረት ላይ ከፍተኛ ውድመት አስከትሏል። እንዲሁም በወቅቱ በግቢው ውስጥ የነበሩ ከብቶች አልቀዋል። በዚህ ጥቃት ወይዘሮ እጅግ ሽፈራው ከአንድ አመት ከስድስት ወር እና ከአራት አመት ልጆቻቸው ጋር፣ እንዲሁም በወቅቱ በመኖሪያ ቤቱ ውስጥ አብረዋቸው የነበሩት እናትነሽ አየነው እና የአንድ አመት ከስድስት ወር ሴት ልጃቸው መገደላቸው ታውቋል።

በዚሁ ቀን በተፈጸመ ሌላ ጥቃት፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች "ባሎቻችሁ የት አሉ፣ ያሉበትን ጠቁሙ" በማለት ሁለት ንጹሃን እናቶችን ያለ ፍርድ ገድለዋል። ከተገደሉት መካከል አንደኛዋ ሴት ባሏ በወፍጮ ፈጪነት የሚተዳደር ሲሆን፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በመጡበት ወቅት በቤት ውስጥ ባለመገኘቱ በጥይት ተኩሰው እንደገደሏት ታውቋል።

ከሐምሌ 9 እስከ 10 ቀን ባለው ጊዜ ውስጥ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በቋሪት ወረዳ ሁለት ሰላማዊ ሰዎችን ሲገድሉ፣ ሌሎች ሦስት ንጹሃንን ደግሞ አቁስለዋል። የተገደሉት ንጹሃን ሁለቱም አርሶአደሮች ሲሆኑ፣ ተስፋሁን አልማው እና ፈንታሁን አለሙ የተባሉ ናቸው። ከቆሰሉት መካከል ደግሞ ሁለት የ7 አመት ሕፃናት ይገኙበታል። በተጨማሪም የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በአካባቢው ያገኟቸውን በርካታ አርሶአደሮችን አፍነው ወስደዋል።

በዚሁ ተመሳሳይ ወቅት፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በደንበጫ ዙሪያ ወረዳ አንጀኔ ቀበሌ አቅራቢያ ሁለት ተማሪዎችን (የ12ኛ ክፍል ተማሪዎችን) ያለ ፍርድ ገድለዋል። ተማሪዎቹ ብሔራዊ ፈተና አጠናቀው ከደብረ ማርቆስ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ወደ ፈረስ ቤት (ደጋ ዳሞት ወረዳ) በመመለስ ላይ ሳሉ በአገዛዙ ኃይሎች የተያዙ ሲሆን፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች ወደ ደጋ ዳሞት በሚያደርጉት ግስጋሴ ተማሪዎቹን ከፊት ለፊት በማሰለፍ በሰብአዊ ጋሻነት ተጠቅመውባቸዋል። ይህንን ድርጊት የተቃወሙትን ሁለቱን ተማሪዎች በጥይት መትተው እንደገደሏቸው ምንጮች አክለው ገልጸዋል።

በተመሳሳይ፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በቢቡኝ ወረዳ ገና መምቻ በተባለ ቦታ በፈጸሙት የከባድ መሣሪያ ድብደባ ከብሔራዊ ፈተና በሚመለሱ በርካታ ተማሪዎች ላይ የሞት እና የአካል ጉዳት መድረሱ ታውቋል።
