Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers committed gang-rape and killing of a young girl in Gishabay town of Sekela Woreda

Update – November 21, 2025 (Hedar 12, 2018 EC)
The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that on November 20th, 2025 Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) committed gang-rape and killing of a young girl in Gishabay town of Sekela Woreda (West Gojjam Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). According to sources, the victim was 14-year-old Kalkidan Addisu Tafere, a 4th-grade student at Gishabay Primary School. The victim was reportedly abducted on November 19th from her workplace in Gishabay under the pretext of being taken for questioning. She was subsequently taken to a jungle in Ashkuar-Ber Kebele, where regime forces gang-raped and subsequently killed her using gunfire and a bladed weapon to prevent her from revealing information.

የአማራ ማህበር በአሜሪካ ከምንጮች ባገኘው መረጃ፣ በህዳር 11 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. በሰከላ ወረዳ ጊሻባይ ከተማ (ምዕራብ ጎጃም ዞን፣ አማራ ክልል፣ ኢትዮጵያ) የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲ ወታደሮች (የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች) አንዲት ታዳጊ ሴት ልጅ ላይ የአስገድዶ መድፈር እና ግድያ መፈጸማቸውን መረዳት ችሏል። እንደ ምንጮች ገለጻ፣ የጥቃቱ ሰለባ የ14 ዓመት ታዳጊ የሆነችው ቃልኪዳን አዲሱ ታፈረ ስትሆን፣ በጊሻባይ የ1ኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤት የ4ኛ ክፍል ተማሪ ነበረች። ሟች ህዳር 10 ቀን በጊሻባይ ከተማ ከምትሰራበት ሱቅ ለጥያቄ ትፈለጊያለሽ በሚል በወታደሮች ታፍና ተወስዳ ነበር። ከዚያም ታዳጊዋን ወደ አሽኳር-በር ቀበሌ የሚገኝ ጫካ በመውሰድ፣ በዚያው የአገዛዙ ወታደሮች በቡድን አስገድደው እንደደፈሯት እና መረጃ እንዳታወጣ በሚል በጥይት እና በስለት መሳሪያ በማጥቃት እንደገደሏት ምንጮች ገልጸዋል።
