Update – July 1, 2026 (Sene 24, 2018 EC) The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that on June 29th, 2026, Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) arrested and harassed numerous civilians (family members) in Mehal-Wonz Kebele of Ankober Woreda (North Shewa Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). Update – June 30, 2026 (Sene 23, 2018 EC) The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that between June 26th and 28th, 2026 Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) forces carried out a series of detentions and harassment targeting religious figures in Alamata City (North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). During the reporting period, TPLF forces carried out arbitrary detentions targeting clergy members affiliated with the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC).
