Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) forces carried out deadly attacks on civilians in separate incidents in Raya-Bala and Raya-Alamata Woredas

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that between June 9^th and 13^th, 2026, Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) forces carried out deadly attacks on civilians in separate incidents in Raya-Bala and Raya-Alamata Woredas (North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia).

The first incident occurred in the early morning hours of June 9^th, when TPLF militants killed a civilian identified as Deribe Eyasu in the Bisober area of Wulaga Kebele (Raya-Bala Woreda). According to reports, the victim had recently returned from the middle east when the militants attacked him in an apparent attempt to confiscate his shirit (traditional Amhara cloth garment) resulting in his killing.

The second incident occurred on June 13^th, when TPLF militants killed a civilian identified as Tigabu Fentay while he was at his private residence in the Garjale area (Raya-Alamata Woreda). According to reports, the attack was carried out under accusation that the victim had ties with the Tigray Peace Force (TPF).

Both incidents and ongoing patterns of targeted abuses against civilian populations have heightened concerns among residents of Raya-Alamata, Raya-Bala and surrounding areas under occupation by TPLF militants.

የአማራ ማህበር በአሜሪካ ከሰኔ 2 እስከ 6 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም ባለው ጊዜ ውስጥ የትግራይ ሕዝብ ነጻ አውጪ ግንባር (ትሕነግ) ኃይሎች በራያ ባላ እና በራያ አላማጣ ወረዳዎች (ሰሜን ወሎ ዞን፣ አማራ ክልል፣ ኢትዮጵያ) በተከሰቱ የተለያዩ ክስተቶች በሲቪሎች ላይ ገዳይ ጥቃቶችን መፈጸማቸውን ተረድቷል።

የመጀመሪያው ክስተት የተከሰተው ሰኔ 2 ቀን ማለዳ ላይ የትሕነግ ታጣቂዎች በዉላጋ ቀበሌ (ራያ ባላ ወረዳ) ቢሶበር አካባቢ ደርቤ እያሱ የተባለ ሲቪልን ሲገድሉ ነው። እንደ ዘገባዎች ከሆነ፣ ተጎጂው በቅርቡ ከመካከለኛው ምስራቅ እንደተመለሰና ታጣቂዎቹ ሽርጡን (ባህላዊ የአማራ ጨርቅ ልብስ) ለመውረስ ሲሞክሩ በፈፀሙበት ጥቃት ነው የተገደለው።

ሁለተኛው ክስተት የተከሰተው ሰኔ 6 ቀን የትሕነግ ታጣቂዎች በጋርጃሌ አካባቢ (በራያ አላማጣ ወረዳ) በሚገኘው የግል መኖሪያ ቤቱ ውስጥ በነበረበት ወቅት ጥጋቡ ፈንታይ የተባለ ሲቪልን በገደሉበት ወቅት ነው። እንደ ዘገባዎች ከሆነ ጥቃቱ የተፈፀመው ተጎጂው ከትግራይ የሰላም ኃይል ጋር ግንኙነት አለው በሚል ክስ ነው።

ሁለቱም ክስተቶች እና የቀጠሉ ሲቪሎችን ኢላማ ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች በራያ አላማጣ፣ በራያ ባላ እና በትሕነግ ታጣቂዎች በተያዙ አካባቢዎች ነዋሪዎች ላይ ስጋትን ከፍ አድርገዋል።
