Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers carried out a series of deadly attacks targeting civilian households in Genet-Wofwasha Kebele of Tarmaber Woreda

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that on April 17, 2026 Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) carried out a series of deadly attacks targeting civilian households in Genet-Wofwasha Kebele of Tarmaber Woreda (North Shewa Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia).

In separate incidents on the same date regime forces carried out attacks on households in residential areas leaving at least three people killed and a fourth injured. According to reports, the attacks were carried out under pretense that the victims had affiliations with Fano.

In the first incident, regime forces attacked the residence of former local administrator Ato Yemane Habteyes, while he was inside with his family. Accounts indicate that a confrontation ensued and the man was killed alongside his young daughter, Fire Yemane.

In the second incident, regime forces targeted the residence of another prominent local figure, Ato Dereje Gulite at around 5 am. During the attack, the man’s family members were shot inside the home leaving his nine-year-old daughter, Senayit Dereje, killed, and his wife seriously injured. According to accounts the man narrowly escaped.

የአማራ ማህበር በአሜሪካ (አአአ) እንደተገነዘበው ሚያዚያ 9 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲ ወታደሮች (የአገዛዝ ኃይሎች) በጣርማ በር ወረዳ (ሰሜን ሸዋ ዞን፣ አማራ ክልል፣ ኢትዮጵያ) በገነት ዎፍዋሻ ቀበሌ በሲቪል ቤተሰቦች ላይ ተከታታይ ገዳይ ጥቃቶችን ፈጽመዋል።

በሚያዝያ 9 በገነት ወፍዋሻ ቀበሌ በደረሰው አሰቃቂ ጥቃት የተጎጂዎች ስም።

በዚህም ጥቃት የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በመኖሪያ አካባቢዎች በሚገኙ የቤተሰብ አባላት ላይ ጥቃት የፈፀሙ ሲሆን ቢያንስ ሦስት ሰዎች ሲገደሉ አንድ አራተኛ ሰው ደግሞ አቁስለዋል። እንደ ዘገባዎች ከሆነ ጥቃቶቹ የተፈጸሙት ተጎጂዎቹ ከፋኖ ጋር ግንኙነት እንዳላቸው በማስመሰል ነው።

በመጀመሪያው ክስተት የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች አቶ የማነ ሀብተየስ የተባለ ነዋሪ ከቤተሰቡ ጋር በመኖሪያ ቤቱ በነበረበት ጊዜ ጥቃት ሰንዝረዋል፡፡ በዚህም አቶ የማነ ከሴት ልጃቸው ፍሬ የማነ ጋር ተገድለዋል፡፡

በሁለተኛው ክስተት፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች የሌላ ታዋቂ የአካባቢው ነዋሪ የሆነውን የአቶ ደረጄ ጉልቴን መኖሪያ ቤት ከንጋቱ 11 ሰዓት አካባቢ ኢላማ አድርገዋል። በጥቃቱ ወቅት የሰውየው ቤተሰብ አባላት በቤቱ ውስጥ በጥይት ተመትተው የዘጠኝ ዓመቷን ሴት ልጁን ሰናይት ደረጄን ገድለው ባለቤቱ ላይ ደግሞ ከባድ ጉዳት አድርሰዋል። ዘገባዎች እንደሚያሳዩት ሰውየው በአስቸጋሪ ሁኔታ ሊያመልጥ ችሏል።
