Suspected Prosperity Party regime militias killed a civilian and carried out a sexual assault of a young girl in Alem-Ber town

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that on November 22^nd, 2025 suspected Prosperity Party regime militias killed a civilian and carried out a sexual assault of a young girl in Alem-Ber town of Fogera Woreda (South Gonder Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). 

On the day of the incident, suspected regime militias reportedly attacked a woman and her children in the town. The woman, identified as Abebech Wondifraw (a grocery store owner) was shot multiple times while attempting to protect her children from the attackers. At the time of the shooting, the victim was holding her one-year-old baby, who was discovered lying in a pool of the victim's blood. Following the murder, the assailants abducted the victim’s 17-year-old daughter who was subsequently subjected to gang-rape and abandoned on the street. The daughter was discovered groaning by local residents the following morning (November 23^rd) and was immediately transported to hospital for urgent medical care.  

Despite the incident occurring in the middle of Alem-Ber town, an area ostensibly heavily secured by regime forces, residents have alleged that the perpetrators were militia forces affiliated with the regime. Furthermore, the killed victim, had a history of detention by regime forces. She had previously been imprisoned for months at the Debre-Tabor city prison center. More recently, she had been detained for additional months in Wereta town before being released shortly before her death.

የአማራ ማህበር በአሜሪካ (AAA) ባገኘው መረጃ መሠረት፣ በኅዳር 13 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም (ኖቬምበር 22፣ 2025) በተጠረጠሩ የብልጽግና ፓርቲ ሚሊሻዎች (የአገዛዙ ሚሊሻዎች) በደቡብ ጎንደር ዞን፣ ፎገራ ወረዳ፣ አለም-በር ከተማ ውስጥ አንዲት ሲቪል ተገድላለች፤ እንዲሁም አንዲት ወጣት ሴት የፆታ ጥቃት ተፈጽሞባታል። በዕለቱ፣ በተጠረጠሩ የአገዛዙ ሚሊሻዎች አበበች ወንዲፍራው (የግሮሰሪ ሱቅ ባለቤት) እና ልጆቿ ላይ ጥቃት ተፈጽሞባቸዋል። አበበች ወንዲፍራው የተባለች የአለም-በር ከተማ ነዋሪና የግሮሰሪ ባለቤት የነበረችው የ17 አመት ሴት ልጇን ከታጠቁ ሃይሎች ለመጠበቅ ስትሞክር በተደጋጋሚ በተተኮሰባት ጥይት ተገድላለች። በግድያው ወቅት የያዘቻት የአንድ ዓመት ሕፃን ልጅዋ በእናቷ ደም ውስጥ ተኝታ ተገኝታለች። ከግድያው በኋላ ታጣቂዎቹ የአበበችን የ17 አመት ሴት ልጅ አፍነው ወስደው በቡድን አስገድዶ መድፈር ፈጽመውባት በመንገድ ላይ ጥለዋት ሄደዋል። ወጣት ሴት ልጅዋ በማግስቱ (ኅዳር 14/ኖቬምበር 23) በአካባቢው ነዋሪዎች በህመም ስትቃትት ተገኝታ ወዲያውኑ ለድንገተኛ የህክምና እርዳታ ወደ ሆስፒታል ተወስዳለች።

ይህ አሰቃቂ ድርጊት በሥርዓቱ የጋራ ኃይሎች በጥብቅ ይጠበቃል በተባለው የአለም-በር ከተማ መሀል ላይ ቢፈጸምም፣ የአካባቢው ነዋሪዎች ወንጀሉን የፈጸሙት ከሥርዓቱ ጋር ግንኙነት ያላቸው ሚሊሻዎች መሆናቸውን በስፋት እየገለጹ ይገኛሉ።

በተጨማሪም፣ የተገደለችው አበበች ወንዲፍራው በሥርዓቱ ኃይሎች በተደጋጋሚ የታሰረችበት ታሪክ አላት። ቀደም ሲል ለወራት በደብረ-ታቦር ከተማ እስር ቤት ታስራ የነበረች ሲሆን፣ በቅርቡ ደግሞ በወረታ ከተማ ለተጨማሪ ወራት ከታሰረች በኋላ ለሞት ከመዳረጓ ጥቂት ቀደም ብሎ ነበር የተለቀቀችው።
