Summary of Amhara War Updates for April 2026

Overview

Between April 1 to 30, 2026 AWU recorded battle events and human rights incidents across 86 distinct woreda/city administrations in 16 zonal administrations in 3 regions (Amhara, Oromia and Addis-Ababa).

The month of April 2026 marked intense fighting with significant military casualties and shifting control in several strategic areas. This month involved military operations both from the Fano and the Oromo Prosperity Party (OPP) regime's joint armed forces.

Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 131 battle events across 74 woreda/city administrations in 14 zonal administrations across 2 regions (Amhara and Oromia Regions) resulting in 4084 regime casualties and 61 Fano casualties.

Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 55 human rights incidents across 36 woreda/city administrations in 15 zonal administrations across 3 regions (Addis-Ababa, Amhara and Oromia Regions) resulting in:

• 84 civilians killed;

• 48 civilians injured;

• 2 SGBV/CRSV victims;

• 11 abductions and

• 156 arrests.

AWU also recorded 17 drone/air strikes across 8 woreda/city administrations in 6 zonal administrations which accounted for 7 civilian deaths and 7 civilian injuries.

All human rights incidents implicated OPP regime forces.

ከመጋቢት 23 እስከ ሚያዝያ 22 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. (ኤፕሪል 1 እስከ 30፣ 2026) በ86 የተለያዩ ወረዳዎች/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ16 የዞን አስተዳደሮች (አማራ፣ ኦሮሚያ እና አዲስ-አበባ ክልሎች) ውስጥ የተለያዩ ውጊያዎች እና የሰብአዊ መብት ጥሰቶች ተመዝግበዋል።

በፈረንጆች ኤፕሪል 2026 ወር በተለያዩ ወሳኝ አካባቢዎች ከፍተኛ ወታደራዊ ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው እና የቁጥጥር ሚዛን ለውጥ የተደረጉባቸው ውጊያዎች ተካሔደዋል። በዚህ ወር የአማራ ፋኖ ራስን የመከላከያ ኀይል ከኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፖርቲ አገዛዝ ጥምር ኀይሎች ጋር ሰፊ ውጊያዎችን አድርገዋል።

ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ74 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ14 የዞን አስተዳደሮች ውስጥ (አማራ እና ኦሮሚያ ክልሎች) የተካሄዱ 131 ውጊያዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም 4084 የአገዛዙ ኀይል አባላት ጉዳት ደርሶባቸዋል እና 61 የፋኖ አባላት ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው ተመዝግበዋል።

ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ36 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ15 የዞን አስተዳደሮች በ3 ክልሎች (አዲስ-አበባ፣ አማራ እና ኦሮሚያ ክልሎች) 55 የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም

• 84 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ተገድለዋል፤

• 48 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል፤

• 2 ጾታዊ እና ጾታን መሰረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች ሰለባዎች፤

• 11 እገታዎች እና

• 156 እስራቶች ተመዝግበዋል።

በ6 ዞኖች በሚገኙ 8 ወረዳዎች/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች 17 ሰው አልባ አውሮፕላኖች በአየር ድብደባ በፈጸሙት ጥቃት ለ7 ሰዎች ሞት እና 7 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል።

ሁሉም የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች የተፈጸሙት በኦሮሞ ብልጽግና አገዛዝ ኀይሎች ነው።
