Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers abducted six civilians including five minors as young as 2-years-old in Gonder City

Update – March 30, 2026 (Megabit 21, 2018 EC)

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that on March 15th, 2026 Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) abducted six civilians including five minors as young as 2-years-old in Gonder City (Central Gonder Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia).

The victims were members of a single household including a mother and her five children. The detainees were identified as follows (see table below).

Based on available information, the family has been held at the Gonder City Third Police Station though this could not be verified. The detainees were targeted under pretense of alleged familial ties with Fano members. The targeting has been reported as part of a wider campaign of arbitrary detentions against civilians in Gonder City and surrounding areas.

የአማራ ማኅበር በአሜሪካ እንደተረዳው፤ መጋቢት 6 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. በጎንደር ከተማ (ማዕከላዊ ጎንደር ዞን፣ አማራ ክልል፣ ኢትዮጵያ) የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲ አገዛዝ ወታደሮች (የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች) ዕድሜያቸው እስከ ሁለት ዓመት የሚደርሱ አምስት ታዳጊዎችን ጨምሮ ስድስት ሰላማዊ ሰዎችን አፍነው ወስደዋል።

ተጎጂዎቹ የአንድ ቤተሰብ አባላት ሲሆኑ፤ እነሱም አንዲት እናት እና አምስት ልጆቿ ናቸው። የታሳሪዎቹ ማንነትም እንደ ሚከተለው ተለይቷል፦

በተገኘው መረጃ መሠረት፣ ምንም እንኳ ማረጋገጥ ባይቻልም ቤተሰቡ በጎንደር ከተማ ሦስተኛ ፖሊስ ጣቢያ ታስረው እንደሚገኙ ታውቋል። ታሳሪዎቹ ኢላማ የተደረጉት «ከፋኖ አባላት ጋር የቤተሰብ ዝምድና አላችሁ» በሚል ሰበብ ነው። ይህ ጥቃት በጎንደር ከተማና በአካባቢው በሰላማዊ ሰዎች ላይ እየተፈጸመ ባለው ሰፊና ያለአግባብ የማሰር ዘመቻ አካል እንደሆነ ተረጋግጧል።
