Numerous civilians killed in separate incidents across Debre-Tabor city, Fogera and Libo-Kemkem Woredas

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that between October 30^th and November 1^st, 2025, numerous civilians were killed in separate incidents across Debre-Tabor city, Fogera Woreda and Libo-Kemkem Woreda (South Gonder Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). 

The first incident took place on October 30^th, when Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) killed at least eight civilians (farmers) in Bura-Egziabher-Ab Kebele in Libo-Kemkem Woreda. The mass killing is believed to be a retaliatory attack following intense clashes between Fano and regime forces nearby. The attack was concentrated in Chiroye village where eight civilians were killed, including an eight‑year‑old boy and a father and son. Names of three killed victims were identified as follows: (1) Molla Takele, (2) Aschalew Molla, and (3) Habte Addise. 

The second incident also took place on October 30^th, when unidentified militants took three civilians hostage, killing one in Weji town of Fogera Woreda. The victims were public minibus drivers and one of the drivers, identified as Tesfaye Destaw, was immediately killed following his capture. The killed victim, a native of Arb-Gebeya town (Tach-Gayint Woreda) was well-liked in his community and regularly provided transportation services between Debre-Tabor, Bahir-Dar, and Gonder cities. At the time of this update, the fate of the other two hostages remains unknown, causing significant concern among their family members and the wider community. 

The third incident took place on November 1^st, when regime forces killed religious teacher Merigetta Yohannes in Debre-Tabor city. Merigetta Yohannes was a student of Yenta-Betsiha at the Debreliulan-Medhanealem Church in Debre-Tabor city. 

In both incidents implicating regime forces, the killings were justified under allegation that the victims were “Fano sympathizers”.

የአማራ ማኅበር በአሜሪካ ከጥቅምት 20 እስከ ጥቅምት 22 ቀን 2025 ዓ.ም. ባለው ጊዜ ውስጥ በደብረ ታቦር ከተማ፣ በፎገራ ወረዳ እና በሊቦ-ከምከም ወረዳ (ደቡብ ጎንደር ዞን፣ አማራ ክልል፣ ኢትዮጵያ) በተለያዩ አጋጣሚዎች በርካታ ንጹሃን ዜጎች መገደላቸውን አረጋግጧል።

የመጀመሪያው ክስተት የተከሰተው ጥቅምት 20 ቀን ሲሆን፣ የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲ የአገዛዝ ወታደሮች (የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች) በሊቦ-ከምከም ወረዳ ቡራ-እግዚአብሔር አብ ቀበሌ ውስጥ በትንሹ ስምንት ንጹሃን ዜጎችን (አርሶ አደሮችን) ገድለዋል። ይህ የጅምላ ግድያ በአካባቢው በፋኖ እና በአገዛዙ ኃይሎች መካከል ከተካሄደው ከባድ ግጭት በኋላ እንደ በቀል የተፈጸመ እንደሆነ ታውቋል። ጥቃቱ ያተኮረው በጭሮዬ መንደር ላይ ሲሆን፣ ስምንት ንጹሃን አርሶ አደር ዜጎች ተገድለዋል፤ ከእነዚህም መካከል የስምንት ዓመት ሕፃን ጨምሮ ከአባቱ ጋር የተገደሉ የ1 ቤተሰብ አባላት ይገኙበታል። ከተገደሉት መካከል የሦስቱ ስም ዝርዝር እንደሚከተለው ተለይቷል፡ (1) ሞላ ታከለ፣ (2) አስቻለው ሞላ እና (3) ሀብቴ አዲሴ።

ሁለተኛው ክስተት የተከሰተው እንዲሁ ጥቅምት 20 ቀን ሲሆን፣ ማንነታቸው ያልታወቁ ታጣቂዎች በፎገራ ወረዳ ወጂ ከተማ ውስጥ ሦስት ንጹሃን ዜጎችን ታግተው አንዱን ገድለዋል። ተጎጂዎቹ የህዝብ ሚኒባስ አሽከርካሪዎች ሲሆኑ፣ ከተያዙ በኋላ ወዲያውኑ ከተገደሉት መካከል ተስፋዬ ደስታው ይገኝበታል። ተስፋዬ ደስታው የዓርብ ገበያ ከተማ (ታች ጋይንት ወረዳ) ተወላጅ ሲሆን፣ በማኅበረሰቡ ዘንድ ተወዳጅ ነበር፤ እንዲሁም በደብረ ታቦር፣ በባህር ዳር እና በጎንደር ከተሞች መካከል የትራንስፖርት አገልግሎት በመስጠት ይታወቅ ነበር። ይህ መረጃ እስከተጠናቀረበት ጊዜ ድረስ፣ የሌሎቹ ሁለት ታጋቾች እጣ ፈንታ ያልታወቀ ሲሆን፣ ይህም በቤተሰቦቻቸው እና በሰፊው ማኅበረሰብ ዘንድ ከፍተኛ ጭንቀት ፈጥሯል።

ሦስተኛው ክስተት የተከሰተው ጥቅምት 22 ቀን ሲሆን፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በደብረ ታቦር ከተማ ውስጥ የሃይማኖት መምህር የሆኑትን መሪጌታ ዮሐንስን ገድለዋል። መሪጌታ ዮሐንስ በደብረ ታቦር ከተማ በሚገኘው ደብረ ልዑላን መድኃኔዓለም ቤተ ክርስቲያን የ4ቱ ጉባኤ ቤት የየንታ በፅሃ ተማሪ ነበሩ።

በሁለቱም የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች በተሳተፉባቸው ክስተቶች፣ ግድያዎቹ የተፈጸሙት ተጎጂዎቹ “የፋኖ ደጋፊዎች” ናቸው በሚል የሐሰት ክስ መሠረት መሆኑ ተረጋግጧል።
