VOA Amharic - The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church “the killing that was carried out is being reviewed under special circumstances”

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church’s Patriarchate of the Archdiocese has announced it is closely reviewing the recent horrific killing of Qesis Wolde Eyesus Ayalew and his four family members.
Kesis Wolde Eyesus Ayale who was horrifically killed alongside his wife and three kids had served the East Shewa Diocese Lumae (Mojo) Woreda St. Mikael’s Church parish in Biqa for 41 years since 1976 EC (1983/4 GC) serving diligently in the capacities of deaconship up to parish administration.
The killing was carried out by forces “whose identity is not yet known” according to the Patriarchate of the Archdiocese which cited the East Shewa Diocese, describing the killing as being carried out under brutal and horrific circumstances.
The Patriarchate of the Archdiocese also expressed its condolences to the church servants and family members who lost their lives in the horrific killing.
It said, “His Holiness Abune Abraham, the Secretary of the Patriarchate of the Archdiocese, Bishop of the Bahir Dar and North Gojjam County Diocese, has been following the matter closely with special attention, ever since they heard of the tragic development.”
It announced that it would discuss the matter with relevant parties to ensure the matter is resolved to the fullest extent of the law.
