Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers arrested and harassed numerous civilians (family members) in Mehal-Wonz Kebele of Ankober Woreda

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that on June 29^th, 2026, Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) arrested and harassed numerous civilians (family members) in Mehal-Wonz Kebele of Ankober Woreda (North Shewa Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia).

According to reports, regime forces targeted several family members under allegation of familial relation to Fano personnel and subjected them to physical assaults, detentions and harassment. At least four civilians were detained in Mehal-Wonz Police Station. In addition, the regime forces destroyed residential homes and property. Among those detained were: (1) Woizero Yimaledu Shewan Tamire (a mother); (2) Ato Minda Belayneh (her son), (3) Ato Shimelis Belayneh (her other son); and (4) Ato Mulatu Bekele (another relative).

የአማራ ማኅበር በአሜሪካ ሰኔ 22 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲ አገዛዝ ወታደሮች (የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች) በአማራ ክልል፣ ሰሜን ሸዋ ዞን፣ አንኮበር ወረዳ፣ መሃል ወንዝ ቀበሌ ውስጥ በርካታ ሲቪሎችን (የቤተሰብ አባላትን) ለእስርና ለእንግልት መዳረጉን ተገንዝቧል።

እንደ ዘገባዎቹ ከሆነ፣ የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች ከፋኖ አባላት ጋር የቤተሰብ ዝምድና አላችሁ በሚል ክስ በርካታ የቤተሰብ አባላትን ኢላማ ያደረጉ ሲሆን የአካል ድብደባ፣ እስራት እና እንግልት ፈጽመውባቸዋል። በዚህም ሳቢያ ቢያንስ አራት ሲቪል የአንድ ቤተሰብ አባላት በመሃል ወንዝ ፖሊስ ጣቢያ ታስረዋል። በተጨማሪም የአገዛዙ ኃይሎች የመኖሪያ ቤቶችንና ንብረቶችን አውድመዋል። ከታሰሩት መካከል፦ (1) ወይዘሮ ይማለዱ ሸዋን ታምሬ (እናት)፣ (2) አቶ ሚንዳ በላይነህ (ልጃቸው)፣ (3) አቶ ሽመልስ በላይነህ (ሌላኛው ልጃቸው) እና (4) አቶ ሙላቱ በቀለ (ዘመድ) ይገኙበታል።
