Summary of Amhara War Updates for March 2026

Overview

Between March 1 to 31, 2026 AWU recorded battle events and human rights incidents across 90 distinct woreda/city administrations in 17 zonal administrations in 4 regions (Amhara, Oromia, Benishangul-Gumuz and Addis-Ababa).

The month of March 2026 marked intense fighting with significant military casualties and shifting control in several strategic areas. This month involved military operations both from the Fano and the Oromo Prosperity Party (OPP) regime's joint armed forces.

Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 149 battle events across 77 woreda/city administrations in 16 zonal administrations across 3 regions (Amhara, Oromia and Benishangul-Gumuz Regions) resulting in 3187 regime casualties and 43 Fano casualties.

Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 52 human rights incidents across 38 woreda/city administrations in 13 zonal administrations across 3 regions (Addis-Ababa, Amhara and Oromia Regions) resulting in:

• 75 civilians killed;

• 94 civilians injured;

• 4 SGBV/CRSV victims;

• 19 abductions and

• 39 arrests.

  
  

AWU also recorded 25 drone/air strikes across 7 woreda/city administrations in 6 zonal administrations which accounted for 27 civilian deaths and 36 civilian injuries.

While the majority of human rights incidents implicated OPP regime forces, other perpetrators included Tigray People's Liberation Front, Geda Commando Forces and Qeerro.

ከየካቲት 22 እስከ መጋቢት 22 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. (ማርች 1 እስከ 31፣ 2026) በ90 የተለያዩ ወረዳዎች/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ17 የዞን አስተዳደሮች (አማራ፣ ኦሮሚያ፣ ቤኒሻንጉል-ጉሙዝ እና አዲስ-አበባ ክልሎች) ውስጥ የተለያዩ ውጊያዎች እና የሰብአዊ መብት ጥሰቶች ተመዝግበዋል።

በፈረንጆች ማርች 2026 ወር በተለያዩ ወሳኝ አካባቢዎች ከፍተኛ ወታደራዊ ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው እና የቁጥጥር ሚዛን ለውጥ የተደረጉባቸው ውጊያዎች ተካሔደዋል። በዚህ ወር የአማራ ፋኖ ራስን የመከላከያ ኀይል ከኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፖርቲ አገዛዝ ጥምር ኀይሎች ጋር ሰፊ ውጊያዎችን አድርገዋል።

ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ77 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ16 የዞን አስተዳደሮች ውስጥ (አማራ፣ ኦሮሚያ እና ቤኒሻንጉል-ጉሙዝ ክልሎች) የተካሄዱ 149 ውጊያዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም 3187 የአገዛዙ ኀይል አባላት ጉዳት ደርሶባቸዋል እና 43 የፋኖ አባላት ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው ተመዝግበዋል።

ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ38 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ13 የዞን አስተዳደሮች በ3 ክልሎች (አዲስ-አበባ፣ አማራ እና ኦሮሚያ ክልሎች) 52 የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም

• 75 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ተገድለዋል፤

• 94 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል፤

• 4 ጾታዊ እና ጾታን መሰረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች ሰለባዎች፤

• 19 እገታዎች እና

• 39 እስራቶች ተመዝግበዋል።

በ6 ዞኖች በሚገኙ 7 ወረዳዎች/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች 25 ሰው አልባ አውሮፕላኖች በአየር ድብደባ በፈጸሙት ጥቃት ለ27 ሰዎች ሞት እና 36 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል።

በርካታዎቹ የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች በኦሮሞ ብልጽግና አገዛዝ ኀይሎች የተፈጸሙ ሲሆን የተወሰኑት ወንጀሎች በትግራይ ሕዝብ ነጻ አውጪ ግንባር፣ ገዳ ኮማንዶ ሃይሎች እና ቄሮ ተፈጽመዋል።
