Summary of Amhara War Updates for July 2026

Overview

Between July 1 to 31, 2026 AWU recorded battle events and human rights incidents across 94 distinct woreda/city administrations in 15 zonal administrations in 3 regions (Amhara, Oromia and Central Ethiopia).

The month of July 2026 marked intense fighting with significant military casualties and shifting control in several strategic areas. This month involved military operations both from the Fano and the Oromo Prosperity Party (OPP) regime's joint armed forces.

Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 137 battle events across 82 woreda/city administrations in 14 zonal administrations across 2 regions (Amhara and Oromia Regions) resulting in 2194 regime casualties and 66 Fano casualties.

Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 44 human rights incidents across 37 woreda/city administrations in 11 zonal administrations across 3 regions (Amhara, Oromia and Central Ethiopia Regions) resulting in:

• 133 civilians killed;

• 48 civilians injured;

• 1 SGBV/CRSV victims;

• 187 abductions and

• 7 arrests.

AWU also recorded 74 drone/air strikes across 4 woreda/city administrations in 3 zonal administrations which accounted for 45 civilian deaths and 23 civilian injuries.

While the majority of human rights incidents implicated OPP regime forces, other perpetrators included Tigray People's Liberation Front and Oromo Liberation Army.

ከሰኔ 24 እስከ ሐምሌ 24 ቀን 2018 ዓ.ም. (ጁላይ 1 እስከ 31፣ 2026) በ94 የተለያዩ ወረዳዎች/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ15 የዞን አስተዳደሮች (አማራ፣ ኦሮሚያ እና ማዕከላዊ ኢትዮጵያ ክልሎች) ውስጥ የተለያዩ ውጊያዎች እና የሰብአዊ መብት ጥሰቶች ተመዝግበዋል።

በፈረንጆች ጁላይ 2026 ወር በተለያዩ ወሳኝ አካባቢዎች ከፍተኛ ወታደራዊ ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው እና የቁጥጥር ሚዛን ለውጥ የተደረጉባቸው ውጊያዎች ተካሔደዋል። በዚህ ወር የአማራ ፋኖ ራስን የመከላከያ ኀይል ከኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፖርቲ አገዛዝ ጥምር ኀይሎች ጋር ሰፊ ውጊያዎችን አድርገዋል።

ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ82 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ14 የዞን አስተዳደሮች ውስጥ (አማራ እና ኦሮሚያ ክልሎች) የተካሄዱ 137 ውጊያዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም 2194 የአገዛዙ ኀይል አባላት ጉዳት ደርሶባቸዋል እና 66 የፋኖ አባላት ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው ተመዝግበዋል።

ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ37 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ11 የዞን አስተዳደሮች በ3 ክልሎች (አማራ፣ ኦሮሚያ እና ማዕከላዊ ኢትዮጵያ ክልሎች) 44 የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም

• 133 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ተገድለዋል፤

• 48 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል፤

• 1 ጾታዊ እና ጾታን መሰረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች ሰለባዎች፤

• 187 እገታዎች እና

• 7 እስራቶች ተመዝግበዋል።

በ3 ዞኖች በሚገኙ 4 ወረዳዎች/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች 74 ሰው አልባ አውሮፕላኖች በአየር ድብደባ በፈጸሙት ጥቃት ለ45 ሰዎች ሞት እና 23 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል።

በርካታዎቹ የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች በኦሮሞ ብልጽግና አገዛዝ ኀይሎች የተፈጸሙ ሲሆን የተወሰኑት ወንጀሎች በትግራይ ሕዝብ ነጻ አውጪ ግንባር እና ኦሮሞ ነጻነት ሰራዊት ተፈጽመዋል።
