Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers carried out a campaign of extrajudicial killings, physical assaults and arbitrary arrests in Gobiye town and surrounding areas of Raya-Kobo Woreda

The Amhara Association of America (AAA) has learned that on August 16th, 2025 Oromo Prosperity Party regime soldiers (regime forces) carried out a campaign of extrajudicial killings, physical assaults and arbitrary arrests in Gobiye town and surrounding areas of Raya-Kobo Woreda (North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). One of the most serious incidents involved the killing of a 26-year-old youth identified as Muhammed (Endris) Molla, in the Alula-Meqabir area. According to sources, the regime forces forcibly entered Muhammed’s family home and took him to the backyard where they shot him in the leg, disabling him. When family members and neighbors attempted to transport him for emergency medical care, the regime forces prevented them from doing so and subsequently shot him in the head, killing him on the spot. In another incident, another civilian, was severely injured after being repeatedly beaten with blunt weapons by regime forces. Similar beatings and arbitrary arrests were reported in Gobiye town and surrounding kebeles, including Gendetis and Wacho. The violence appears to be part of a broader campaign of repression targeting youth under pretext of broad support for Fano. These systematic abuses have pushed many young people to flee the area, seeking refuge either in dangerous forested areas or by attempting migration to countries in the middle east, often under life-threatening conditions.

የአማራ ማህበር በአሜሪካ እንደተገነዘበው ነሃሴ 10 ቀን 2017 ዓ.ም የኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፓርቲ አገዛዝ ወታደሮች (የአገዛዙ ሃይሎች) በራያ ቆቦ ወረዳ በጎብየ ከተማ እና አካባቢው (ሰሜን ወሎ ዞን፣ አማራ ክልል፣ ኢትዮጵያ) ከህግ አግባብ ውጭ የግድያ፣ የአካል ጥቃት እና የዘፈቀደ እስራት መፈጸማቸውን ለማወቅ ተችሏል። በጣም አሳሳቢ ከሆኑት ክስተቶች መካከል አንዱ መሐመድ (እንደሪስ) ሞላ የተባለ የ26 ዓመት ወጣት በአሉላ-መቃብር አካባቢ መገደሉ ነው። እንደ ምንጮች ገለጻ፣ የአገዛዙ ወታደሮች ወደ መሐመድ ቤተሰብ ቤት በግዳጅ ገብተው ወደ ጓሮው ከወሰዱት በኋላ እግሩ ላይ በመተኮስ አካለ ጎደሎ አድርገውት ነበር። ቤተሰቦቹ እና ጎረቤቶቹ ለድንገተኛ ህክምና ሊያጓጉዙት ሙከራ ቢደርጉም የአገዛዙ ሃይሎች በመከልከልና ጭንቅላቱን በጥይት ተኩሰው በመምታት ወዲያው ህይወቱ እንዲያልፍ አድርገዋል። በሌላ አጋጣሚ ሌላ ሰላማዊ ሰው በአገዛዙ ታጣቂዎች በተደጋጋሚ የተደበደበው ሲሆን ከፍተኛ ጉዳት ደርሶበታል። በጎቢዬ ከተማ እና አካባቢዋ ቀበሌዎች ገንደጢስ እና ዋጮን ጨምሮ ተመሳሳይ ድብደባ እና እስራት መፈጸሙ ታውቋል። ጥቃቱ ለፋኖ ሰፊ ድጋፍ ያደርጋሉ በሚል በወጣቶች ላይ ያነጣጠረ ሰፊ የጭቆና ዘመቻ አካል ይመስላል። እነዚህ ስልታዊ በደሎች ብዙ ወጣቶች አካባቢውን ለቀው እንዲሰደዱ አድርጓቸዋል፣ በአደገኛ ጫካዎች ውስጥ ወይም ወደ መካከለኛው ምስራቅ አገሮች ለመሰደድ በመሞከር ብዙውን ጊዜ ለሕይወት አስጊ ሁኔታዎችን እያሳለፉ ይገኛሉ።
