Atrocities targeting civilian Amharas in the East Wollega and Horo Guduru Welega Zones of the Oromia Region on May 21 and 22 claimed at least eight lives and caused two injuries

AAA has learned of fresh attacks targeting ethnic Amhara civilians which resulted in at least eight reportedly killed and two others severely injured in the East Wollega (also spelt Welega or Wellega) and Horo Guduru Welega Zones of the Oromia Region in Ethiopia.

At least eight Amharas killed and an unknown number injured in a series of ethnically motivated attacks in Horo Guduru Welega Zone of Oromia Region

AAA learned that from May 3 to 10, 2021, at least eight Amharas were killed and another eight were injured in three separate attacks by suspected militias of the Oromo Liberation Army/Front (OLA/F) in various kebeles of Abe Dongoro (Abedongoro) Woreda (district), Horo Guduru Welega Zone, Oromia Region.

AAA regrets to confirm that at least five Amhara truck drivers, their assistants and one child have been shot dead by militias allegedly of the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) on the Gojjam-Addis Ababa highway while heading to Gojjam, Amhara Region.

At least seven Amharas were killed and six more injured in a series of ethnically driven attacks in West Shewa Zone of Oromia Region, Ethiopia

Investigations undertaken by the AAA in the month of April uncovered at least seven ethnically motivated killings of Amharas in four incidents in West Shewa Zone of Oromia Region during April 2021.

Suspected OLA attacks on April 23 kill at least 31 Amharas in Jimma Zone of Oromia Regional State, Ethiopia

AAA has been able to confirm that suspected Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) militants have killed at least 31 ethnic Amharas in attacks in Jimma Zone of Oromia Region.
