Summary of Amhara War Updates for September 2026

Overview
Between September 1 to 30, 2026 AWU recorded battle events and human rights incidents across 66 distinct woreda/city administrations in 13 zonal administrations in 2 regions (Amhara and Oromia).
The month of September 2026 marked intense fighting with significant military casualties and shifting control in several strategic areas. This month involved military operations both from the Fano and the Oromo Prosperity Party (OPP) regime's joint armed forces.
Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 89 battle events across 61 woreda/city administrations in 13 zonal administrations across 2 regions (Amhara and Oromia Regions) resulting in 1460 regime casualties and 29 Fano casualties.
Over the reporting period, AWU recorded 29 human rights incidents across 20 woreda/city administrations in 9 zonal administrations across 2 regions (Amhara and Oromia Regions) resulting in:
74 civilians killed;
36 civilians injured;
0 SGBV/CRSV victims;
6 abductions and
258 arrests.
AWU also recorded 7 drone/air strikes across 4 woreda/city administrations in 3 zonal administrations which accounted for 4 civilian deaths and 9 civilian injuries.
While the majority of human rights incidents implicated OPP regime forces, other perpetrators included Tigray People's Liberation Front, Oromo Liberation Army, Geda Commando Forces and Qeerro.

በፈረንጆች ሴፕቴምበር 2026 ወር በተለያዩ ወሳኝ አካባቢዎች ከፍተኛ ወታደራዊ ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው እና የቁጥጥር ሚዛን ለውጥ የተደረጉባቸው ውጊያዎች ተካሔደዋል። በዚህ ወር የአማራ ፋኖ ራስን የመከላከያ ኀይል ከኦሮሞ ብልጽግና ፖርቲ አገዛዝ ጥምር ኀይሎች ጋር ሰፊ ውጊያዎችን አድርገዋል።
ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ61 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ13 የዞን አስተዳደሮች ውስጥ (አማራ እና ኦሮሚያ ክልሎች) የተካሄዱ 89 ውጊያዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም 1460 የአገዛዙ ኀይል አባላት ጉዳት ደርሶባቸዋል እና 29 የፋኖ አባላት ጉዳት የደረሰባቸው ተመዝግበዋል።
ዘገባው በተሰራበት ጊዜ ውስጥ በ20 ወረዳ/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች በ9 የዞን አስተዳደሮች በ2 ክልሎች (አማራ እና ኦሮሚያ ክልሎች) 29 የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች ተመዝግበዋል። በዚኽም
74 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ተገድለዋል፤
36 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል፤
0 ጾታዊ እና ጾታን መሰረት ያደረጉ ጥቃቶች ሰለባዎች፤
6 እገታዎች እና
258 እስራቶች ተመዝግበዋል።
በ3 ዞኖች በሚገኙ 4 ወረዳዎች/ከተማ አስተዳደሮች 7 ሰው አልባ አውሮፕላኖች በአየር ድብደባ በፈጸሙት ጥቃት ለ4 ሰዎች ሞት እና 9 ሰላማዊ ሰዎች ቆስለዋል።
በርካታዎቹ የሰብአዊ መብት ረገጣዎች በኦሮሞ ብልጽግና አገዛዝ ኀይሎች የተፈጸሙ ሲሆን የተወሰኑት ወንጀሎች በትግራይ ሕዝብ ነጻ አውጪ ግንባር፣ ኦሮሞ ነጻነት ሰራዊት፣ ገዳ ኮማንዶ ሃይሎች እና ቄሮ ተፈጽመዋል።
